This category incorporates either Open Wheel or Nozzle drives with both flanking and steering rudders. The unit is fixed and can be made very robust at a cost less than the equivalent AST. The use of Nozzles can increase the ahead thrust by 15 to 30% and the astern thrust by 50% compared to Open Wheel. The ahead steering can be nearly equal to the AST by incorporating the patented CTM Twin Differential Steering.
